Whales from above

Travel
From my second visit to Iceland in 2017, my third in total, where I had the unique opportunity to not only take part in a whale watching tour in northern Iceland but to also start and operate my drone from aboard the vessel as the pod of at least five grace- and beautiful humpback whales almost cheerfully tagged along for almost two hours. If it weren’t for these photographs, I still would not believe what we saw on that day.

What a spectacular view of one of Germany's most beautiful mountain lakes!

Cloud Gazing, Switzerland 2017
The Appenzell region of Switzerland is famous for it's cheese but to photographers it bears wonders in terms of mountains, ridges, clouds and lakes. Fog gathers on the steep ridges so that it seems like a blanket for the massive chalk mountains that are characteristic for the Alpstein massif. The Saxerlücke, which is seen here, is one of the most famous examples for this occasion to occur. Watch out for the obligatory yellow dot.
